How Our Energy Procurement Process Works
If you've never worked with an energy broker, you may be unsure how it all works. Here's a detailed step-by-step guide to help you understand the Purely Energy process:
Step 1: Signing the Letter of Authority (LOA)
The first step is to sign a Letter of Authority. This document authorises us to speak to energy suppliers and request contract information on your behalf. It allows us to:
- Access your current contract details (end date, annual consumption, unit rates, etc.)
- Request copies of past bills
- Begin price negotiations directly with suppliers.
Important: This letter does not give us the authority to sign a contract for you.
Step 2: Gathering Your Usage and Contact Information
We need your current usage data and contract information to secure the best quotes. The fastest way to do this is to provide a recent copy of your energy bill. If that's not possible, we'll request the information from your supplier using the signed Letter of Authority (LOA). Be aware that this process can take up to five business days, so sending a bill directly is always the fastest route.
Step 3: Comparing the Market
Once we have your current contract information, we contact over 30 trusted suppliers to collect quotes. Thanks to our strong relationships with all our suppliers, we can often access exclusive rates that are not available to the general public.
Our pricing specialists will then thoroughly analyse all the options and present the quotes most suited to your business needs and budget.
Step 4: Finalising Your Contract
Once you're happy with a quote, we'll prepare the contract and send it for your signature. Please note that the energy market is a live market. This means energy prices can change daily, so contracts must be signed and returned by 4:30 PM on the same day the quote is issued so that we can successfully lock in the energy contract for you. Once the contract has been signed we will send the contract to the supplier to secure your new energy plan.
