About Watford Grammar School for Boys
Watford Grammar School for Boys is an academy in Hertfordshire for 11 to 18-year-olds. Watford Grammar School for Boys approached us so they could get a better understanding for exactly where the money on their bills is going, whose main concern was to gain a better understanding of the school’s energy usage and the reasons behind the high energy bills.
Our Approach
Our goal was to help Watford Grammar School for Boys get a clearer picture of how energy was being used outside of school hours and to understand why energy bills were so high during the holidays.
To do this, we installed our energy monitoring software, INSIGHTS, which creates easy-to-read / understand data reports. Showing exactly where and when energy is being used at all times in the day.
By looking at the data, we found that 60% of energy was being used at night and early in the morning, even when no one was in the building during the holidays. Once the school saw this, they were able to adjust their heating settings and timers to cut down on waste and use energy more efficiently.
