Frequently asked questions
How quickly can I switch?
Five working days from signed contract to live supply on a standard switch. We handle the supplier transfer end-to-end so you do not need to contact the incumbent yourself. Larger or multi-site portfolios may take 2 to 4 weeks because of meter coordination.
Will I be tied into a long contract?
Only as long as you choose. We quote 1, 2, 3, and 5 year fixed terms; longer usually buys a lower unit rate. Standard fixed contracts have no exit fee. We will tell you which term gives the best risk-adjusted price for your sector before you sign.
What if my consumption goes up?
Most SME suppliers allow consumption to rise within a tolerance band on a fixed contract. If you cross the band materially we re-quote, usually because you have grown into mid-market territory and the right product changes. Visit /for-business/mid-market for what that looks like.
Is there really no broker fee hidden in the rate?
Our margin sits in the rate, the same way every broker's does, but it is shown separately on every quote so you can see exactly what you are paying for our service. We do not take undeclared commission from the supplier on top.
What is Purely Insights and why is it free?
Insights is our half-hourly meter monitoring platform. We give it to every supply customer free because better consumption data leads to better procurement decisions and tighter renewals, which is good for both sides. Read more at /products/insights.
Can I switch back if I am not happy?
Yes. There is no exit fee on standard fixed contracts. You give the supplier 30 days notice, we quote you a fresh contract or you go elsewhere. Most SMEs renew because the service is the bit they did not realise they were missing.
Do you handle green energy for small sites?
Yes. REGO-backed electricity layers onto any contract for typically £1 to £4 per MWh extra. GOO-backed biomethane gas is available too. Both are Ofgem-issued and audit-ready for SECR if you grow into the threshold. Read /products/green for the certificate detail.
