Purely Insights gives facilities and energy managers half-hourly data at meter level and, where sub-metering is installed, circuit and asset level detail. Half-hourly at meter level, circuit level where it matters

Purely Insights carries half-hourly electricity, gas and water at meter level, refreshed roughly every 30 minutes after settlement. Non-half-hourly meters come in through AMR and supplier billing data, with AMR refreshing daily, and sub-meters report at their own device cadence. You can move between site, building, meter and circuit views and drill down to a single half-hour, then aggregate back up hourly, daily, weekly, monthly or annually. Historical data goes back up to 6 years where supplier data flows allow, so a schedule change can be judged against several heating seasons rather than last month.

Below the fiscal meter, wireless and clip-on sub-metering gives circuit, sub-circuit and asset level visibility where it is installed. Purely supplies, installs and owns the sensors. The hardware sits on Purely's balance sheet and the data sits with the customer, so there is no lease and no capex line to defend, and the sensors are returned at no notice cost if the supply contract ends. Meter compatibility covers HH profiles P5 to P8, NHH profiles P1 to P4, AMR, smart and sub-meters, with manual upload as a fallback.

Baseload and out-of-hours waste are the first thing to look at

Anomaly detection covers weekend usage, overnight spikes, missing reads and holiday baselines, which is where most avoidable spend hides on a facilities estate. As an industry typical guide, baseload in offices and schools usually sits at 15 to 25 percent of total kWh, and anything above 35 percent usually points to a BMS schedule or always-on plant fault rather than genuine demand. Those are industry ranges, not Purely measurements, so treat them as a prompt to investigate a site rather than a target to report against.

Alerts route to the person who can act on them

Thresholds are configurable per meter and per sub-meter, set in kWh, kW, £ or kgCO2e, so a threshold can be written in the unit the recipient actually manages. Alerts go by email, SMS or webhook, either as a real-time notification or a daily digest, with escalation routing behind them. Peak-demand and DUoS red-band exposure is flagged before the charge lands on the bill, which is the difference between moving a process and explaining a number after the event. Alert recipients are chosen at onboarding, alongside the portfolio list and the data-access letters of authority.

Access is role based, with unlimited users on every account and permissions applied per site, group or function. A site engineer, a regional facilities manager and a finance controller can each hold the view that suits their job without a shared login, and an audit trail sits behind the account. Where several suppliers are involved across an estate, every site sits under one login regardless of supplier, so an out-of-hours investigation starts with the meter rather than with working out where the data lives.

Proving the fix held is part of the work

Consumption is weather adjusted using heating and cooling degree days, so a before-and-after comparison is like for like rather than a reflection of a mild fortnight, and year-on-year and month-on-month views carry the same adjustment. Drill-down to a single half-hour confirms that a schedule change took effect on the day it was meant to, and site-against-site benchmarking with quartile and outlier views shows whether one building is still carrying an issue the rest of the estate has already closed out.

A published scenario from a food and drink manufacturer, single site, 12 GWh, shows the value of going below the fiscal meter. Sub-metering on three production lines isolated a refrigeration setpoint drift.
